The 2014 Wrangler Rubicon – Still The King Off the Road

Basically a Wrangler TJ, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was introduced in the car market in 2003 with more off-road features.   Several models were built with new features for the purpose of outsmarting previous editions.  Similar to the old models, the 2014 model of Jeep Wrangler is offered in the same trims – Rubicon and Unlimited.

This is a review from a Jeep Owner.

My husband decided to purchase the Rubicon because of several reasons.

His primary motivation on choosing the 4-door 2014 Wrangler Rubicon is his passion to drive off the outskirts.  Our Wrangler 2014 Rubicon is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 285 horsepower with 260 pound-feet of torque.  The engine gives quick acceleration and modest fuel efficiency rated at 17 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on highway.  When combined, fuel economy rates 18 mpg.  A soft top is standard but we decided to buy the optional removal hardtop that has a rear defroster and wiper.

The 2014 Rubicon may be the less adequately outfitted trim level; but it did not fail him.  It is definitely created and designed on bumpy and irregular trails showing great off-road competence.  Wrangler 2014 Rubicon is equipped with special 17 inches wheels, 32 inches tires, hardwearing axles and transfer case, rock rails, a disconnecting front sway bar and a leather-swathed steering wheel, air conditioning and satellite radio.  Additionally, it boasts of the Power Convenience Group that consists of an auto-dimming back view mirror, heated power mirrors, keyless entry and power locks and windows.

Although Wrangler is known for its burly and daring image, several magnificent and expedient features are added such as automatic climate control, navigation, Bluetooth, leather seats and an Infinity sound system.  Other extra features like rugged tires, a special transfer case and electronic front and rear locking differentials were also added to enhance its competence.

Offered in two types of transmissions, 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic, the 2014 Rubicon also has the following safety features:

•    4-wheel ABS;
•    4-wheel disc brake and brake assist;
•    driver and passenger air bag;
•    side airbag;
•    electronic stability control;
•    roll-over protection scheme;
•    traction control; and
•    front tow hooks.

We would like to thank Jeep for the enhanced contemporary interior of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  Even with the modern safety and convenient qualities, this vehicle proves that it is still as functional and capable as previous models when travelling on off-road surfaces.   We were happy with the distinctive innovations, specialized hardware and style.
